What does your desktop look like?
Here’s mine. I purge all the extra crap off it every once in a while, but every semester it gradually gets worse as we go. The background has been the same Datsun for years.

I have more than 2,000 desktop pictures of cars and trucks and things that go, and it is set to change the picture every few minutes. So this Swiss Hornet just happened to be there. I also have it set to hide all the Desktop icons.

You can turn the white search box black to match the task bar if you go to settings and turn the settings menu to dark mode.

It’s kinda funny to me that a fighter originally designed for naval use has found its way into the service of a landlocked country.

On the Windows side I’m rocking this photo of me in my friend’s Miata at Canaan after I screwed the brakes on my Mini:
On an unrelated note I miss having access to Multisim. I used it through high school and I do miss it’s dynamic simulations and ability to simulate 7400 series logic.

Well, if you go back far enough, the F/A-18 began life as the YF-17, the unsuccessful competitor to the F-16 in the US Air Force’s Lightweight Fighter Competition. And the YF-17 was developed from the F-5, which the Swiss also flew in good numbers. But I see your point. I’ve always wanted to go to an air show in Switzerland.

OMG how did you do that? I love it!!!

Interesting, I guess I always figured the F /A -18 was larger than it actually is.

I use LTSpice almost everyday. I use it both at home and at work for the limited amount of SPICE simulation I have to do there. It’s a solid program but I wish it had a dynamic simulation and not just the snapshot system. I have also recently switched from Eagle to KiCAD for my schematic and PCB work at home. I prefer Eagle but my student subscription is expiring soon so I switched over. I have also dabbled with Altium but found it too slow for my liking. At work we use the Cadence suite and frankly you should never use Cadence unless you have too. We have daily “who the hell thought this was a good idea” moments at work when we find new examples of the mind boggling design decisions made in the Cadence suite.

You name a decision you could make in the Mass Effect trilogy and I have probably made it in one of my dozen or so play throughs. There’s still some really obscure stuff I haven’t seen yet but I have seen all the outcomes of most decisions.

I've only ever used expresspcb, and that was for a one and done assignment, designing an amplifier. I did not enjoy it and hope never to use it again. I used (and actually enjoyed) the autodesk suite the last few summers.

In grand scheme of things, the Hornet is not all that large, considering that it was a reaction to how huge fighters had gotten with the F-4 and F-14. But, as you can see from your picture over Sydney Harbor, the Super Hornet (F/A-18E/F/G) is a much larger, and much more capable, aircraft.

I bought ME:A at launch and did enjoy it. I have only completed one play through at about 80 hours. I enjoyed it but haven’t had the time to go back to it and dig into it further. I’ll probably come back to it in a year or two to start exploring the different decisions and outcomes.

I found it enjoyable but not quite as good as the 1st 3...
Is the story as good as the 1st 3 in your opinion?
Maybe I’ll go back and finish it.

It’s not on the same level as the OT for me but I did enjoy it. The core story wasn’t spectacular but I really enjoyed the companion plot lines and a lot of the moments towards the end of the game. The end of Ryder Family Secrets can go fuck itself though. Such a tease for absolutely nothing.

lol tbh... ive had it almost that long... i swap it sometimes.. but i always come back to it... the soft colours and paper wrinkles are just really easy on the eye..

That’t the Unity launcher. Top to bottom I have the Ubuntu search function, nautilus file manager, Chrome, Hangouts, Spotify, Rhythembox, Thunderbird, LTSpice, KiCAD, Arduino IDE, Matlab, Mathematica, Slack, LibreOffice Writer, Calc, Impress, Screenshot tool, and Terminal.

Ah, don’t know LTSpice, KiCAD, Matlab, Mathematica at all. I’ve done some MakerSpace stuff with the local library I work for part time, so I’ve dealt with Arduinos a bit. I also do a bit of 3D modeling as a result of that as well, so I’m used to Sketchup, but have never delved into a full CAD program.
As for the rest, Caja is my file manager preference (I’m running MATE) and Clementine is my Music Player (I mostly still listen to my huge MP3 collection).
If you like added bling, check out Cool Retro Term as a Terminal emulator

LTSpice is a SPICE analog circuit simulator, KiCAD is a schematic and PCB layout editior, Matlab is a programming language and environment, and Mathematica is the worlds greatest calculator.

One of the backgrounds available in Windows 7 is a slide show, which I have directed to a directory full of pictures of Bettie Page, and despite their very great degree of wholesomeness, our excellent moderator s would probably prefer for me not to post many of them here. Here’s one I think I can get away with:
